Position Summary and Responsibilities
:
Apply electrical engineering principles and techniques to develop new electric power supplies and accessories.
Responsibilities Include
:
Assures accuracy and completeness of assigned projects based on department standards and priorities;
Maintains security, accuracy and completeness of all information files and data created, including but not limited to drawings, Change Notices, time sheets, BOMs, project schedules and electronic data base files;
Performs cost analyses of new designs/changes in existing designs to obtain most cost effective, quality product required (includes decisions on material selection, vendor specifications, etc.);
Evaluates equipment through testing to required standards (CCC, CSA, CE);
Builds and tests breadboard systems and works with mechanical engineers to build prototype machines;
Plans product requirements and defines design specifications based on inputs from marketing, quality, manufacturing, and sales;
Supports production of customer orders by working very closely with all team members focusing on customer requirements as goal;
Troubleshoots and repairs both current products and old designs;
Assists engineering and service departments in providing solutions to complex technical problems for new and existing products;
Assists in updating or creating product test procedures;
Assists in training of less skilled technicians and assemblers;
Assists in creating engineering drawings.
Qualifications
:
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field with course emphasis in Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
